Dr Katy Craig

Veterinarian and Emergency Clinician
Katy graduated from JCU in 2015 and headed home to live the mixed practice rural lifestyle in Country Victoria. Once in practice she developed a keen interest for all things emergency and critical care and subsequently moved into an emergency internship in 2018 at the Animal Referral Hospital in Melbourne while also completing her Graduate Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care with honours through the University of Melbourne.
Since then she has worked and locumed in emergency centres along the eastern seaboard and has settled down in Sunny Townsville. Katy is working in our emergency department part time while spending the other half of her days teaching in the Veterinary Science Department at JCU.
Katy is a keen advocate for critical care and is looking forward to helping to get the JCUVet Emergency department up and running.
Her English Pointer Chester can often be found sitting under her desk always at the ready for a sneaky beach trip.
