About You:
You will work in a multidisciplinary setting alongside veterinarians and nurses in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care. Your role will entail CT imaging, operation of fluoroscopy, and operation/oversight of the radiography suite, with potentially a new MRI machine in the near future. Other duties include maintenance of digital image storage, sending images to external radiologists for interpretation and responsibility for radiation safety across the facility.
You will collaborate with colleagues in the pursuit of continual improvement in standards across all imaging modalities.

The role will also provide support to the clinical tuition of 5th year Veterinary Student, educating them to achieve quality diagnostic images in a real life clinical setting.

Candidates for this position must:

  • Ability to mentor, train and develop team members in imaging.
  • Capability to continuously update training materials as required.
  • Tertiary degree in Medical Imaging or Radiography, with specialized training or experience in veterinary radiography preferred.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Radiographer
  • Radiation Use License (Queensland) in CT, X-Ray Fluoroscopy and MRI – desirable or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience in the imaging of animals is an advantage but is not essential.
