Dr Sophie Huxley

Veterinarian and Emergency Clinician
Dr Sophie graduated from Murdoch University in Perth, WA in 2018. With a long-awaited desire to experience a tropical lifestyle, she moved straight to Darwin following graduation. Sophie worked in general practice for 3 years, and while in Darwin she helped to establish a not for profit feline rescue which was primarily created to find permanent homes for stray cats and kittens in Darwin.
In 2022, Sophie left Darwin and travelled the Queensland coast with her 6 year old Pomeranian and 14 year old tabby cat while working as a locum veterinarian.
Not being able to resist the call for a tropical lifestyle once again, Sophie then settled in Townsville in January 2023.
Sophie enjoys all aspects of emergency and critical care, but of course has a particular interest in all things feline.
In her spare time she enjoys exploring the many freshwater swimming holes in North QLD, walks down at the Strand with her dog, and fishing and boating.
