Experienced Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Nurse

JCUVet is the Small Animal Hospital for James Cook University in Townsville. We are looking to appoint permanent full time and casual experienced ECC Veterinary Nurses; or alternatively GP Veterinary Nurses who have a career interest in ECC.

We encourage high levels of case engagement and will support you in learning advanced anaesthesia, ventilation, blood gas interpretation, placement and management of catheters and drains and advanced patient monitoring and care.

We consult with our team about the best shift patterns and accommodate personal needs as best as possible. Our monthly shift patterns involve a nice combination of days, swing shifts, night shifts and alternate weekends off. With a large team of nurses spanning ECC, Referral and GP there are always opportunities to move into other teams in time.

For these roles, we are looking for the following attributes:

• Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing with 3+ years’ veterinary nursing experience
• Confident, positive and adaptable team players
• Enjoys a high level of involvement and patient care
• Willing and eager to learn new skills and to support others
• Is flexible with the ability to work shifts including days, nights, weekends
