Important Information
Pricing and Payments
We think it is important that our pricing is transparent with all our services and will provide you with a medical plan and estimate if your pet is in need of care.
For patients admitted to hospital, our policy is obtain a deposit which equals 50% of the initial estimate. For those pets in hospital for an extended time, we will ensure you receive regular updates on the account.
Further deposits may be required during their stay, and full payment will be required when your pet is ready to go home.
Like most vet clinics, we do not offer credit, though we do work closely with pet insurance providers and veterinary specific lending agencies to help ensure that you are able to provide your pet with the care they require.
Visit VetPay for more information on veterinary loans and payment plans, or speak to a member of our team.
Payments can be made by EFTPOS, credit card or cash. If you anticipate a problem with payment, please let us know as soon as practical.
Pet Insurance
While the decision to insure your pet is a personal one, insurance can literally be a lifesaver when your pet experiences a serious injury or illness. Many of our clients prefer to take the financial stress out of the equation by purchasing comprehensive insurance.
There are many pet insurance companies available, and we encourage you to consider your options and choose a plan that is most suited to your needs.
Ordinarily, when your pet is insured, you remain responsible for the account and have your insurance claim processed once the bill has been paid.
However, JCU Vet now works with GAPOnly®. GAPOnly® is affiliated with a number of different insurance companies, and they process your claim while you wait, meaning that you only pay the deductible.
Visit GAPOnly® to find out they are affiliated with your insurance agency.
Visiting My Pet
At JCUVet we understand how hard it is to be away from your pet when they are sick or sore.
We also know there is a wealth of scientific information that shows pets improve faster if they have familiar smells and visits from their owners, so we encourage you to visit your pet while they are under our care.
We ask that all clients please ring prior to coming to the hospital to ensure it is an appropriate time for a visit. This ensures we minimise your wait and that we have a nurse available to facilitate your visit and give you an update on your pet’s condition and treatment.
Regular visiting hours (Monday – Sunday) are:
- 2:00pm – 5:00pm
- 7:00pm – 9:00pm
If you need to visit outside of these hours, please inform the attending doctor to see if this can be arranged.
