JCU Vet is your partner in pet care, providing the Townsville and North Queensland community with a comprehensive range of veterinary health care services and medical treatments.

Our state-of-the-art veterinary hospital provides general practice services and a referral centre for complex medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, imaging, dermatology, and cardiology cases.

JCU Vet is also a teaching hospital – dedicated to excellence in education, training and research. We are located at the James Cook University campus and have an important role in training Australia’s next generation of leaders in veterinary medicine.

Surgery
Our surgical procedures range from general practice procedures such as de-sexing and dentistry, through to complex soft tissue, orthopaedic, neurological and oncological surgeries. We have a skilled surgical team with a wealth of experience, supported by highly trained anaesthetists for your pet’s safety and your peace of mind.

We know how stressful it is when your pet is unwell, because we’ve got pet’s too. Our medicine services are available 5 days per week and offer extensive diagnostic and treatment options to manage complex diseases. We provide modern on-site pathology and imaging equipment to get you the answers you need.

Our passionate General Practice team has all the bells and whistles needed to provide the highest standard of routine medical care. Whether is it a wellness examination, on site pathology, dental x-rays, or advanced anaesthetic monitoring during their sterilization, we’ve got things covered.

JCU Vet is the only centre in North Queensland with a team dedicated to managing your pet’s anaesthesia. With extensive monitoring equipment and a wealth of expertise, this specialist lead team works closely with the other referral services to ensure that your pet remains safe, comfortable, and stress free whilst in hospital and throughout their recovery.
